Cardiff day 3
25 June, 2016
It was a mixed bag for Alinghi on day three in Wales, with a race win countered by a last place finish and matched by several bouts of bad luck that sees the team slip to fifth place in the Act standings. The day could be summed up by the first race, which saw the team punished by a penalty having rounded the bottom gate in first position. The penalty stood, but the team bounced back with a great start by the pin in race two, keeping the lead until the finish line. Unfortunately, the rest of the racing was not to prove as successful, with a challenging day summed up in the final race when one of the team’s rudders gave way halfway around the course. Still, repairs will be made and the team moves onto the final day!
